Embassy Suites Walnut Creek Repositioning

+22.3%GOP Growth
+5.3%RevPAR CAGR

The challenge

Remington began managing the 249-room property in 2007 and set about maximizing gross margin based on improving market share and cost controls. Within easy travel distance to San Francisco, Oakland, and Napa Valley as well as two major airports, the Embassy Suites Walnut Creek was not living up to its potential as a travel and tourism destination due to an inferior product.

The solution

The first phase of improvements sought to increase the amount of premium guest room inventory, as well as to improve the meeting space and public areas. The redesign of the lobby into an inviting, open atrium gave the property a much-needed upscale appearance. The second phase of the renovation sparked a reactivated Embassy Lounge bar and Embassy Grill restaurant, as well as the expansion of an enhanced retail market. Following the renovation, the property has seen more than 22% GOP growth and 5.3% RevPAR CAGR.
